Teenager garden

A bridge across the gap

What this is

A space for a parent and a teenager living, for now, in two different worlds — slammed doors, "you're controlling me again", "I'm worried about you". You sit down together, each on your own device, to actually hear each other.

What it gives you

You'll both leave heard across the gap — the parent's worry and the teen's need for independence held with equal dignity. An accusation turns into a request the other person can actually take in.

How the guide leads

It's a stage, not anyone's fault — under every "leave me alone" and every "I'm scared for you" there's a need. The guide respects the teen's autonomy, never lectures or rules on who's right, mirrors each of you in turn, and names both people's feelings and needs.
